Carnival Cruise Lines reported Monday a company-record 28 percent increase in reservations for a six-week booking period, an indication that lower prices have helped the Miami-based company spur demand in the sluggish Caribbean market.The world's largest cruise brand said net individual reservations from Feb. 5 through March 18 for its 22 ships were up 28 percent compared to a year ago. Capacity increased 6 percent during the same period, which also saw the highest number of individual reservations received in any other six-week span in the cruise line's 35 years.

Ronald A. Williams, chairman, chief executive and president of Aetna Inc., received compensation last year valued by the insurance company at $30.86 million, according to a proxy statement filed Monday. Williams, who took over as chairman and chief executive of Aetna on Feb. 14, received a salary of $1.07 million, incentive compensation of $7.7 million and restricted stock and options the company valued at $22 million on the dates the awards were granted.

The American Medical Association on Monday asked the Department of Justice to block UnitedHealth Group Inc.'s proposed purchase of Sierra Health Services Inc., saying the deal would be anticompetitive. The AMA estimates that if the merger were completed, UnitedHealth would control 78 percent of the health maintenance organization market in Nevada.

Honda Motor Co. will build Civics at its new $550 million vehicle assembly plant in southeastern Indiana, a company official said at a groundbreaking ceremony on Monday. The Japanese automaker has said the Greensburg, Ind., plant will employ about 2,000 people when it opens in fall 2008.

Northwest Airlines Corp. flight attendants objected Monday to the airline's failure to disclose how much its executives and directors will be paid when it comes out of bankruptcy protection later this year. Minneapolis-based Northwest filed financial details - called a disclosure statement - for its reorganization plan on Feb. 15.
