OWEGO -- Sanmina-SCI Corp. has laid off about 90 workers at its printed circuit board plant in Owego but won't say why.

Employees were told about the job cuts March 2, said Lee Conrad, vice president of the Broome-Tioga AFL-CIO. The company called some of the workers at home, telling them not to report to work on the following Monday, he said.
